At Spa Natural Center, every full moon we perform a spiritual ritual to release, manifest and renew our energies. In a circle, we practice guided meditation, kirtan chanting, ceremonial drumming, thanksgiving and singing bowls. We gather around a bonfire, a symbol of transformation, which allows us to release the old and open space for new opportunities.
If you can’t join us in person, you can still replicate this ritual at home. With simple tools such as fire, music and writing, it is possible to connect with the energy of the full moon and align your intentions with its cycle. Below, we show you everything you need to live this experience and receive the next cycle with renewed energy.
Tools for Full Moon Ritual
1. Source of Fire (Campfire or Candle)
Options: Use a fire pit or brazier if you have outdoor space.
Indoor alternative: Opt for one large candle or several small ones in a safe container. See candles on Amazon
Fire symbolizes transformation and will be the means to release what you no longer need.
Additional uses: Wear a mala (bead necklace) to accompany meditation or kirtan chanting.
Trust your intuition when choosing crystals; each stone has its own energy and message.
3. Music to Accompany the Ritual
Options: Use Tibetan or quartzbowls to accompany the ceremony.
Suggested Playlists: You can find playlists of Spotify with mantras and instrumental music:
“Mantras for meditation”.
“Sounds of nature”.
The sound will help you harmonize your energy and keep you present throughout the ceremony.
4. Paper and Pencil for Intentions and Gratitude
Prepare three sheets of paper:
The first one to release.
The second to state.
The third to thank.
5. Essential Oils and Energetic Cleansing
Suggested oils: Lavender, rosemary, cedar or orange to relax and clear the mind.
Cleansing tools: Palo santo, sage or incense to purify the space and your body.
How to Perform the Full Moon Ritual at Home
Light your fire source: If you are indoors, make sure your candles are in a safe place.
Purify the space and your energy: Use palo santo or sage to cleanse the energy of the room and pass it through your body as well.
Place the crystals and tools: Place the crystals near the fire or on your altar.
Choose the music: Listen to singing bowls, mantras or an instrumental playlist to accompany you during the ceremony.
Full Moon Ritual Activation: Letting Go, Manifesting and Gratitude
Step 1: Initial Meditation to Connect with the Present
Sit comfortably and close your eyes.
Inhale deeply and feel how your body connects with the earth.
If you prefer, chant a mantra such as “Om Shanti” to align your energy and calm the mind.
Step 2: Letting go of the Old
Take the first sheet of paper and write down what you want to release: fears, worries or unnecessary habits.
Hold the paper over your heart and be thankful for the lessons those experiences taught you.
Burn the paper in the campfire or candle, allowing the fire to transform it into ashes.
Step 3: Attract the New
On the second sheet, write your intentions for the next lunar cycle.
Fold it and, before burning it, state aloud your intention: “I open myself to receive love, clarity and abundance.”
Burn the leaf, trusting that your desires align with the universe.
Step 4: Thank and Connect with Others
On the third sheet, write a message of gratitude for someone special who is not present.
Visualize that person receiving your loving energy.
Burn the paper, sending your intention to the universe with gratitude.
Closing with a Purifying Bath
Fill the bathtub with warm water and add Epsom salts along with a few drops of lavender oil. As you submerge, visualize how the water carries away any residual energy. As you leave, hydrate well and feel the peace that the closing of the ritual brings.
The full moon ritual is a unique opportunity to release the old, manifest new intentions and connect deeply with yourself. You don’t need complicated tools; presence and intention are enough to transform your energy. By performing this ritual regularly, you will feel how your life flows in harmony with the natural cycles and how your desires materialize little by little.
